Whoosh….we’re in the finals of planning for the 2024 Africa Great Lakes Peace Camp and very pleased to announce Alain Nasekwa as the Director! Alain, a young entrepreneur from DR Congo, offers extensive experience and commitment to youth peace in the region. He serves on our Board of Directors as Dr Congo rep and is one of the leaders of Vision Club Congo. Well known at Peace Camp as “Mr Karabanko”, Alain is one of our wonderful alumni who has volunteered for many years in a variety of capacities at camp. Alain has a degree in Development Business Management and is pursuing entrepreneurial opportunities including developing his own Event MC business. He looks forward to his new role as director of the 2024 Peace Camp to be held for youth in the Great Lakes Region of Africa this Aug 4-10 in Rwanda.

Join youth from our affiliated peace clubs in the region. Limited scholarships are available for youth (between the ages of 16-25) who live in the Great Lakes Region of Africa.

What’s Peace Camp All About?
Peace Camp is an opportunity for youth in the Great Lakes Region – Rwanda, DR Congo, Burundi, Uganda and Tanzania – to meet, learn and have some fun. Youth receive hands-on skills training in: conflict transformation; art therapy; mental health/trauma care; social entrepreneurship; and the use of sports, arts, and games in peacebuilding.
