Breakfast Club for Orphans

Our newest project is birthed from an emergency need for food in the DR Congo for orphans at Good Samaritan Centre that has been overwhelmed by children arriving due to continuing violence in their region. In 2018, the number of children more than doubled, to over 150. Most are very young, and very malnourished.

The Centre struggles to provide one meal a day. Together with Vision Congo Club, A Peace of Life has launched a breakfast club to offer a hot, nutritious breakfast porridge, to quickly improve the health of these young children.

It costs only 60 cents per child for breakfast. Our pilot project provides breakfast twice a week, to immediately respond, while we work on longer-term, sustainable solutions. Pictured: A special Christmas Breakfast made possible by generous supporters in Canada – thanks, First Baptist Pt Alberni!

Any donation is much appreciated.

For the past several years, APOL has been involved with this Centre through the activities of Vision Congo Club, who visit the children, provide love, care and mentoring; planted a garden; and started a hair salon to generate funds for the peace club and their care of orphans.
