We’re in the final stages of prep for another exciting peace camp — to be our 8th!!! It will be held in Aug at the lovely grounds of YWAM, in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, with youth participants from around the Great Lakes Region of Africa.
The peace camp is all about encouraging and empowering young leaders to be catalysts for peace and development. Meet Hyacintha Uwamahoro, our camp director this year!
Hyacintha is a talented 24-yr-old Rwandan university student in sciences faculty, food & biotech dept. She dreams of owning a farming business and enjoys “living my life to the fullest knowing I am helpful to my society.” Hyacintha’s demonstrated great commitment to peacebuilding and has volunteered extensively in our programs, providing translation at previous peace camps, and is one of our new fundraising team members to work on raising funds and awareness locally, in Rwanda, for A Peace of Life. We are thrilled to see her take this next step in leadership!
